Occasia by Aakarshan – Refund, Return & Exchange Policy

At Occasia, we carefully handcraft every product and take great care to ensure that it reaches you safely and in perfect condition. Since our products are handmade, each piece is unique and may have slight variation.

We request you to read the following policy carefully before placing your order.

1. When Can You Request a Return or Exchange?

A return or exchange will be accepted only in the following cases:

  • Wrong product delivered: The product received is different from the product ordered or mentioned in your order confirmation.
  • Product damaged during transit: The product has been damaged while being shipped to you.

We do not accept returns or exchanges simply because you have changed your mind or no longer wish to keep the product.

2. Handmade Product Disclaimer

Our products are lovingly handcrafted by artisans, one piece at a time. Therefore, minor variations in colour, shape, size, texture and finish are natural and are a part of the handmade character of the product.

You may notice:

  • Slight colour variations
  • Minor differences in shape or size
  • Small bubbles or air holes
  • Natural variations in texture or finish

These characteristics are not considered defects and will not qualify for a return or exchange.

3. Check Your Package at the Time of Delivery

If the package appears tampered with, opened or significantly damaged at the time of delivery, please do not accept the parcel.

Please hand it back to the delivery person before signing the Proof of Delivery (POD).

4. How to Request a Return or Exchange

If your product qualifies for a return or exchange, you must contact the Occasia customer care team within 48 hours of delivery.

Please email us at aakarshanliving@gmail.com with the following information:

  • Order number
  • Reason for return/exchange: Damaged, defective or incorrect product
  • 2–3 clear photographs of the product, including:
    1. Photos showing the damage/issue from different angles
    2. Photo of the product along with its original packaging, such as bubble wrap, thermocol, cloth bag, cardboard, etc.
    3. Photo of the parcel/carton in its original condition

To be eligible, the product must be unused and returned with its original packaging intact.

5. Review & Approval

Once we receive your request and photographs, our team will review the complaint.

If the issue meets our return/exchange criteria, we will confirm the next steps with you by email.

Please note that submitting a request does not automatically guarantee an exchange. The product and the reported issue will be reviewed by our team.

6. No Refunds

Occasia does not offer refunds once an order has been purchased.

If an eligible product is found to have a genuine defect, is damaged during transit, or the wrong product has been delivered, we will offer a replacement or exchange, subject to our verification process.

We do not accept replacement requests when a customer simply changes their mind or no longer wants the product.

7. Return & Exchange Process

Once your request is approved, there are two options:

Option 1 – Return the Product

You may be asked to ship the product back to us.

Once the product reaches our warehouse, it will undergo a quality check.

If a genuine defect or eligible issue is confirmed, the applicable return shipping charges will be reimbursed.

We will then provide a replacement product or another product of the same value.

The replacement will generally be processed within 7–10 working days after the product is picked up from the given address.

Option 2 – Urgent Replacement

If you need a replacement urgently, please mention this in your email.

In such cases, you may be allowed to keep the damaged product, and Occasia will send you a replacement without charging for the replacement product.

However, a packaging and shipping charge of ₹100 will apply.

8. Important Points to Remember

  • Return/exchange requests must be raised within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Products must be unused and have their original packaging intact.
  • Returns/exchanges are only applicable for wrong products or genuine transit damage/defects.
  • Minor variations in handmade products are not considered defects.
  • No refunds will be provided for purchased products.
  • We do not accept returns or exchanges due to a change of mind.
  • Occasia by Aakarshan reserves the right to approve or reject a return/exchange request after reviewing the product and supporting photographs.
